General Information and
Booking Conditions
1. Care. The main condition and acceptance of any booking
is that good care is taken of the property, and the
contents therein, and the cottage is left truly clean
and tidy.
2.
Breakages and Damage. However caused, breakages and
damage should be reported immediately and paid for by
the tenant on departure.
3.
Arrival and Departure. The cottages are available from
4pm on the day of arrival, and we ask that you try not
to arrive before this time. Please let us know in advance
if you expect to arrive after 7pm. The cottages must
be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. Some flexibility
on departure time may be afforded, particularly for
less able visitors, but only by prior arrangement.
4.
Pets. We are in the midst of hill farmland and surrounded
by sheep and cattle. Accordingly pets, particularly
dogs, may be allowed by arrangement only. Owners must
ensure that no animal hair or other evidence of pets
is left in the cottages. Pets are NOT allowed on any
of the beds or other items of furniture. Please see
that dogs are exercised AWAY from the cottages and the
grounds and that they do not soil any part of the property
or grounds. We expect that best animal husbandry and
practice is maintained by visitors in respect of their
pets at all times, including recovery of soiling in
any public area during their stay at Eildon Holiday
Cottages. Dogs are not to be left unattended in cottages,
or in cars on or near the property, at any time. Visitors
are solely and fully responsible for their pets at all
times. A small weekly charge will be made for each pet
by arrangement.
5.
Confirmation of Booking. When you are sent confirmation
of booking on receipt of the Reservation Form and deposit,
you are then fully liable to pay the balance of the
cost of the holiday, notwithstanding that this balance
is not due for payment until no later than 6 (six) weeks
prior to the agreed arrival date. If balances are not
received in full by this date, Eildon Holiday Cottages
reserve the right to cancel the holiday without notice
and without refund of deposit.
6.
Cancellation. Eildon Holiday Cottages will make best
endeavours to re-let where cancellation is notified
in writing. In the case of a successful re-let, the
balance (NOT the deposit) on the holiday will be waived
or refunded.
7.
Cancellation Insurance. Because of your responsibilities
and liability in the event of cancellation, we cannot
stress too strongly the advisability of taking out cancellation
insurance in respect of your holiday. For UK based guests,
Eildon Holiday Cottages will provide a leaflet with
the deposit acknowledgement. If for any reason this
is not received, please call for one to be sent. The
form in the leaflet should be completed and returned
to the address advised in the leaflet itself and NOT
to Eildon Holiday Cottages.
8.
Parking. Our cottages have limited parking space for
one standard vehicle only in front of each. Please let
us know in advance if you are bringing a larger vehicle
or more than one vehicle. Additional parking for a second
vehicle and parking for larger vehicles is available
near to the cottage. Larger vehicles, including large
disabled vehicles, must not be left outside the cottage
other than for boarding and discharging. We ask that
you park your vehicles with consideration for other
visitors and do not obstruct their views from the cottages.
No caravans or camping are allowed on site.
9.
Conduct. The person booking the holiday is responsible
for the conduct of the whole of his/her party during
the holiday. In particular, it is expected that the
best possible consideration is given to the enjoyment
and privacy of other visitors and residents on the property
at all times and that excessive noise or disturbance
is avoided.
10.
Smoking. Smoking is allowed, other than in Langrig,
on the understanding that smoking indoors is minimised
and the cottages kept well ventilated at all times.
Ashtrays are to be emptied and cleaned immediately after
use. The management kindly request that guests smoke
outdoors wherever possible, and that cigarette ash and
butts are disposed of carefully and not littered on
the site.
11.
Property. All property belonging to visitors is at the
risk of the owner of such property including, but not
limited to, any car or its contents.
12.
Maximum Occupancy. The maximum number of persons occupying
the cottages must NOT exceed the number stated in the
brochure or agreed in writing by Eildon Holiday Cottages.
Sometimes it may be possible to accommodate an extra
person, and in such cases an additional charge will
be payable by arrangement.
